  • Brooklyn’s new kid on the blockchain in talks with 25 investment banks, ‘Big Four’ accounting firms. [at American City Business Journals] - Companies in New York City’s exploding blockchain ecosystem are moving from no-names to must-knows in a matter of months thanks to Wall Street’s dense population of global banks, accounting firms, and major corporations. One of the newest companies to enter the scene, which is competing to build decentralized ledgers similar to that behind bitcoin into other financial tools, is ConsenSys, which calls 2016 “The Year of the Fortune 500.” “Business decision-makers on the boards of every Fortune 500 company are essentially mandating their technologists to understand what the blockchain is and how it can effect their business,” Andrew Keys, director of enterprise business development at ConsenSys, told the New York Business Journal. “And then to build a proof of concept validating those hypotheses.” Founded last year, Brooklyn-based ConsenSys has already partnered with Microsoft to help run their cloud-computing, blockchain-as-a-service platform designed to cut the time it takes to build blockchain applications down from days to minutes.
